Red Hat Tops Q4 Earnings And Revenue Estimates

Red Hat Inc. (RHT – Snapshot Reportreleased their fourth quarter fiscal 2016 earnings results, posting earnings of $0.34 per share and revenue of $544 million.

Currently, RHT has a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), but it is subject to change following the release of the company’s latest earnings report. Here are 5 key takeaways form the just announced report below:

Red Hat:

1. Beat earnings estimates. The company reported $0.34 per share, surpassing our Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.31. This number excludes $0.05 from non-recurring items.

2. Beat revenue estimates. The company saw revenue figures of $544 million, topping our estimate of $536 million and reflecting a 17% year-over-year increase.

3. Reported operating cash flow of $247 million, up 14% year-over-year, and subscription revenue of $480 million, up 18% year-over-year or 22% in constant currency.

4. Red Hat’s outlook assumes current business conditions and foreign currency exchange rates. For Q1, revenue guidance is between $558 million-$566 million; fully-diluted GAAP EPS is expected to be approximately $0.28 per share, and fully-diluted non-GAAP EPS is expected to be approximately $0.50.

5. RHT was down a slight $0.13, or 0.17%, to $75.58 as of 4:42 PM EST in after-hours trading shortly after its earnings report was released.
